I have been fortunate to collaborate with the BBC on the graphic design of two officially licensed board games,
Doctor Who: Time of the Daleks and Doctor Who: Nemesis. These projects gave me the opportunity to visually interpret the Doctor Who universe, creating cohesive layouts, iconography, typography, and visual systems that capture the tone, energy, and identity of this iconic franchise while remaining clear and functional for players.
Working with such a globally respected organisation was an invaluable experience that strengthened my ability to develop polished, on-brand visual design for high-profile licensed products.
Doctor Who: Time of the Daleks is a co-operative board game where players take on the roles of different Doctors and their companions, travelling through time and space to thwart the Daleks’ plans to rewrite history. Using a clever dice-programming system, players assign actions to move, investigate, fight enemies, and solve missions across a modular board representing different locations in time and space. Success depends on careful planning and teamwork as the Daleks grow stronger and pressure mounts to restore the timeline before it’s too late.
Doctor Who: Nemesis is a competitive board game where players take on the roles of the Doctor’s most iconic enemies, each pursuing their own schemes across time and space. Using unique character abilities, players manipulate events, and recruit allies achieve their personal victory conditions. The game shifts dynamically as timelines change and rivals interfere, creating a fast-paced race to outmanoeuvre both the Doctor and each other while bringing your villainous plan to fruition.
